Eligibility Criteria

To ensure the highest standards, PMA has set specific eligibility criteria for applicants:

• Citizenship: Only unmarried male citizens of Pakistan can apply.
• Age Limit: Candidates must not be older than 20 years as of December 31, 2024. An age relaxation of one year is provided for candidates from FATA, Gilgit Baltistan, AJK, and Balochistan.
• Academic Requirements: Applicants must have passed F.Sc Pre-Engineering or A-Level with a subject combination of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, securing at least 55% marks.

1. Download the Application Form: Visit the PMA website at www.marineacademy.edu.pk to download the prospectus and application form.
2. Submit Your Application: Send the completed form along with a pay order/bank draft of Rs. 3,500/- to Pakistan Marine Academy, Karachi. Candidates applying under the Self Finance Scheme (SFS) must submit an additional pay order/bank draft of Rs. 300,000/-.

Selection Procedure

The selection process at PMA is rigorous to ensure only the best candidates are chosen:

• Entrance Test: Conducted at various locations including Abbottabad, Gwadar, Karachi, Lahore, and others. A minimum of 50% marks is required to qualify.
• Medical Examination: Shortlisted candidates will undergo a medical examination at designated Pak Army/Navy Hospitals.
• Final Selection: Based on F.Sc. marks, entry test scores, medical examination results, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and a final interview.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Standards

To ensure candidates are physically fit for the demanding life at sea, the following PET standards must be met:

• Running: One Mile (1.6 Km) in 08 Minutes
• Push-ups: 15 Repetitions in 02 Minutes
• Sit-ups: 15 Repetitions in 02 Minutes
• Chin-ups: 02 Repetitions in 02 Minutes
