UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME FOR STUDENTS OF GILGIT-BALTISTAN

HEC Scholarships Program 2024 Online Apply

Applications are invited from the students of Gilgit-Baltistan who intend to pursue undergraduate studies (4/5 years BS Programmes) from HEC-recognised public sector Universities/Degree Awarding Institutions. The Scholarships are being offered for the academic year 2024-25 in all areas of study/ disciplines under the project titled, “Undergraduate Scholarship Programme for the students of Gilgit-Baltistan in Top Pakistani Universities/ Institutions (Batch-IV)”.

  

Eligibility Criteria HEC Scholarships

a) Applicants must have domicile/local certificate of Gilgit-Baltistan.
b) Applicants must have completed Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC)/Equivalent.
c) Applicants who are already availing any other scholarship are NOT eligible to apply.
d) The maximum age limit is 22 years as on the closing date of application submission.
e) The candidates will have to meet HEC and University criteria for admission in BS programmes.

SCHOLARSHIP COVERAGE

a) Tuition Fee, Hostel fee and other charges – maximum Rs. 240,000 per year.
b) Stipend of Rs. 15,000 per month.
c) Books and traveling allowances of Rs. 30,000 per annum.

IMPORTANT NOTE

a) Candidates will be shortlisted based on their scores in the Aptitude Test (to be conducted by Education Testing Council (ETC), HEC) and academic credentials.

b) Candidates must secure at least 50% marks in the ETC test. Test Result will be valid for one year after the announcement of Test Result date.

c) Students already enrolled in any BS Programme in public sector universities/institutions prior to the advertisement (maximum one academic year) may also apply.

d) The award of scholarships will be purely merit-based and irrespective of gender, caste, race, and religion.

e) The applicants can apply to any Public Sector University/Institution of Pakistan. However, any expenditure over and above the cost given in Project PC-1 will be borne by the student himself/herself.

f) HEC reserves the right to postpone or cancel the scholarship process at any stage without assigning any reason.

HOW TO APPLY?

a) Applicants are required to submit online application through: https://eportal.hec.gov.pk

b) Incomplete or only saved applications will not be considered. Students must click on submit after completing application form.

c) Applicants are advised to keep their login ID and Password saved for future use.

d) Applicants are required to deposit Rs. 500/- (Non-refundable) in any Habib Bank Ltd. (HBL) branch all over Pakistan as application fee in HBL Account No. 1724 7900 133401, Account Title: Higher Education Commission, Branch Code: 1742, Islamabad, and upload the scanned copy/image of bank receipt while applying.

e) Application in hard form will not be entertained.

Important NOTE

It is mandatory to bring the original applicant copy of the paid fee challan on test day, along with Original CNIC/Original Passport. Otherwise, the candidate will not be allowed to sit in the test.

Applicants are advised to check their emails & HEC website regularly for any updates and are required to apply well before the closing date to get assistance in case of any inconvenience.
